Description
The fossa is the largest carnivorous mammal and top predator on the island of Madagascar. At first glance, its remarkable features make this animal look like some weird mix of a cat (paws and claws), a monkey (long tail) and a weasel (head and small round ears) – in fact the closest relatives of the species are mongooses. Fossas are fierce predators; their main preys are lemurs but they hunt every small to medium-sized animal of the island from reptiles through rodents to birds.
A few years ago I started a wildlife conservation-environmental awareness poster project called ‘12images’ - you can find more details and information about it on my blog: http://www.12images.net/endangered-and-extinct-animals/12-images-for-environmental-awareness/.
I started with two 12 piece series featuring already extinct and critically endangered animals and I plan to continue the project with more collections from time to time - this Madagascar series is the first I added. All the new collections will be available as I finish them.
PLEASE, BE AWARE, THAT AS THESE POSTERS ARE PROJECT RELATED, THE 12IMAGES.NET COPYRIGHT NOTICE ON THE BOTTOM OF THE POSTERS IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE DESIGN AND WILL BE PRINTED ON THE POSTERS YOU PURCHASE.
My whole profit from any sales of these series goes to the Sea Shepherd to support their fight to save our oceans and marine wildlife. For now, you can purchase only wall prints and some products here on FAA/pixel, but I created several design variations more suitable for t-shirts etc. - they are available through my website: please visit http://www.12images.net.
