The Siamese bala shark – is taxonomically not a true shark but a probably extinct freshwater fish that was endemic to two Thailand river basins. There were no recorded sightings of the species for more than 3 decades; the reasons of the extinction are overfishing for international aquarium trade and extensive habitat destruction: water pollution, drainage and dams.

I started with two 12 piece series featuring already extinct and critically endangered animals - these are the images of these two collections.
