Description
The Bali tiger – is one of the two already extinct populations of the Sunda Island tiger (Panthera tigris sondaica), the critically endangered Sumatran tiger being the only remaining population of the subspecies. It was distinguished as a subspecies until 2017. It was the smallest tiger and its population was limited to the Indonesian island of Bali, where they were hunted to extinction. An exact date of extinction is unknown: an adult tigress was killed at Sumbar Kima, West Bali, on 27th September 1937, and the last reports of sightings date from the 1940s and 1950s.
A few years ago I started a wildlife conservation-environmental awareness poster project called ‘12images’ - you can find more details and information about it on my blog: http://www.12images.net/endangered-and-extinct-animals/12-images-for-environmental-awareness/.
I started with two 12 piece series featuring already extinct and critically endangered animals - these are the images of these two collections. I plan to continue the project with more collections from time to time - I've already made another portraying species of Madagascar's unique wildlife. All the new collections will be available as I finish them.
PLEASE, BE AWARE, THAT AS THESE POSTERS ARE PROJECT RELATED, THE 12IMAGES.NET COPYRIGHT NOTICE ON THE BOTTOM OF THE POSTERS IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE DESIGN AND WILL BE PRINTED ON THE POSTERS YOU PURCHASE.
My whole profit from any sales of these series goes to the Sea Shepherd to support their fight to save our oceans and marine wildlife. For now, you can purchase only wall prints and some products here on FAA/pixel, but I created several design variations more suitable for t-shirts etc. - they are available through my website: please visit http://www.12images.net.
