Artist's Description
The Assignation of Venice - Harry Clarke illustrations for Edgar Allen Poe's Tales of Mystery and Imagination, published in 1919. This is the right half of a double-plate, the left half is also available.

His amazingly detailed art nouveau black and white pen and ink plates are masterpieces on their own.
More plates from the book available in the collection.
