Narrow-striped mongoose Canvas Print

The narrow-striped mongoose is a small carnivore endemic to Madagascar; the species can be found only in the dry deciduous forests of the Menabe region in the western part of the island. Narrow-striped mongooses are primarily insectivorous specialized on insect larvae, but occasionally they also prey on small mammals, reptiles and birds eggs. They live in a highly flexible, seasonally and locally changing social system: solitary individuals, transient pairs, both-sex and maternal groups and multi-male associations were all observed.
